Alice Springs Karting Club was awarded Best Community Event for the 2013 N.T. and Australian Dirt Kart Titles at the Alice Springs Town Council Australia Day Awards.

Receiving this award was no easy feat, with respected nominations like the Finke Desert Race and Mabantua Festival, both nominated for different  national  awards gives our club great pride to achieve this result.

This is a special award for the club to receive recognition for the extreme efforts of the 2013 President Jamie DeBrenni,  the kart club committee and members, Tony Connor and the 50 volunteers, many of whom are not even members of the kart club. These events were supported by the local business community with sponsorship and equipment. The Alice Springs Karting Club are extremely appreciative of the contribution from the Alice community to achieve the best Titles events ever as quoted in the national kart magazine Kart X.

The first meeting for 2014 will also be a celebration with the official flick of the switch to light up the track and race under lights on Saturday March 8th. To achieve this has taken many hours of hard work on and off the track led by Jamie DeBrenni to achieve a goal during the busiest year for the club.

The new committee are excited about the season ahead with large numbers of new drivers purchasing  karts and the current members enthusiastic to race under  the new lights  during the warmer months. We look forward to a successful year at the Alice Springs Karting Club.

AIDKA Congratulates all those involved in running these two events.
