Please see the below video demonstrating the correct way to fit an engine seal. Engine sealDownload As you will see in the demonstration, when threading the wire through the locking mechanism, it is important NOT to pull the seal tight (like you would a cable tie). You should be able to put a finger through the middle of the seal gap. The seal should be relatively loose fitting with 10 -15mm of cable left after trimming the excess.  If you have any questions or are unsure how to correctly fit a seal, please speak to one of the AIDKA Scrutineers or a member of the AIDKA Technical Committee at the event you are attending.  Information can also be found in Appendix F of the AIDKA Rule...

The Australian Independent Dirt Kart Association (AIDKA) is aware of an incident that occurred at Loxton Kart Club on Sunday. AIDKA, on behalf of all AIDKA members, would like to pass on our sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Loxton Kart Club member, Tony Hucks. We would also like to thank all those who provided assistance at the track, and we extend our sincere support to the participants, their families, volunteers, officials and all those affected. In the meantime, we respectfully ask that people respect the privacy of the Family, Officials, Volunteers and Members of Loxton Kart Club.
