2014 SA Title Review

2014 SA Title Review

May 7, 2014

To say the Adelaide Dirt Kart Club received some rain over the weekend would be an understatement.  Friday saw the pits and track being covered with water and before long all could see that there was not going to be any practice or racing as planned.  The officials and club decided that the best plan was to go though scrutineering and drivers briefings and get all involved to return Saturday morning. Arriving the next day, drivers were updated and it was decided that it would be best to allow the track to dry out a little more before track preperation began as even more rain, including hail had fallen over night.  The Stars of Karting round was on just down the road so a lot of drivers took the opportunity to take a look at the other side of karting.  The club would like to thank those who stayed around to help drain the track and do all they could to ensure racing would occur.  At around 2.00pm most of the drivers had retuned to the track and by 3.00pm practice was well on its way.  With the track still soft, racing was going to be fast and furious.  The first round of racing ended up showing some spectacular driving from several drivers, setting themselves up for a good weekend.  After the completion of the first round on Saturday evening it was decided to start a little earlier than scheduled time Sunday and finish the three rounds of heats and hopefully the finals. Day three started with the sun shining and all keen to complete the event.  As the day went on the track got better and better, giving credit to the track crew who had worked tiredlessly on the track overnight.  The finals continued under lights, and with the finals only determining the winners, anyone who made the finals were still in with a chance.  The eventual winners of the 2014 SA State title were: KT MEDIUM 1ST          54           BRADLEY CONNOR 2ND          15           AIDAN HALL 3RD          174         THOMAS ENGLISH 4TH          10           JOSEPH CARUSO 5TH          33           BRADLEY DALWOOD 6TH          36           JAKE KERVERS                            JUNIOR HEAVIES 1              36           JENNA KERVERS 2              76           LACHLAN COWLING 3              1              MAX VIDAU 125CC HEAVY...
