Midget Class Rules Amendment

A revision of the Midget rules was voted through by the club delegates at the recent council meeting.  The amendment allows for the use of Dirt tyres as well as a mandatory gear ratio for the class.  The new rule for the class reads as follows:

 

 

 

 

Children aged 5 up to 7 years- Demonstration- training class only
CLASS SPECIFICATIONS
Engine: Honda GX35, unmodified, must be fitted with a kill switch located on the steering wheel.
Chassis: Steel or chrome-moly tubing, must be midget chassis registration seal affixed to the main chassis rail of the kart.
Wheel base: 740mm – 860mm
Rear track width: Maximum 1100mm
Wheels; Metallic construction – Max 5″ wide & 5″ Diameter
Tyres: 10″x4.0″-5 Wet Tyres or 11″x5 or 5.5″-5″ Dirt Tyres
Gearing: 8-78 or 9.75:1
Brakes: Hydraulic or Mechanical
Body work: Compulsory nosecone, Nassau panel and side pods
Rear bumper: Must cover the full kart width and be of plastic construction
Protective equipment: AS PER RULE BOOK
Other: all Data collection communication and telemetry is prohibited
